Galerie Jean Marc Patras

Since it was founded in 1987, the gallery has been focused on promoting and developing non-western contemporary art. Housed in the center of the Marais, near the Picasso Museum, the gallery serves as a dedicated agent to exhibit and represent the works of emerging and established artists, as well as artists’ estates. Gallery artists include Samuel Fosso, Daniel Lainé, Aboudramane, John Kiyaya and Seydou Keïta.

Known for its early support for African artists like Chéri Samba, Kingelez and Moké, which dates back to the exhibition "Magiciens de la Terre", held at the Centre Pompidou in 1989, the gallery has supported large exhibitions and publications since the 1990s to the present, in collaboration with major international institutions and partners, like Sean Kelly Gallery in New York.

As primary gallery and agent of non-western contemporary art, our aim is to provide artists with the necessary tools and discourse, and to shape a broad vision of what non-western contemporary art is in the new globalized art world.

We also act as consultants for public and private institutions, international organizations like the CCI/OMC, and as advisors for private collections
